Theodore “Ted” J. Harvatin was raised in the suburbs of Springfield, Illinois where he continues to live and work.  His parents came from coalmine country in Southern Illinois, where his grandfather was a miner.

Ted double majored in business administration and economics at Galesburg, Illinois’ Knox College, where he graduated not only with high honors (Cum Laude) but was also selected by the Knox faculty to become a member of the esteemed academic society, Phi Beta Kappa.  In addition, Mensa International, a select group of the brightest 2% of people in the world, accepted Ted as a member.  He is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law.

Ted started practicing law in Springfield in 1981.  His family background, intellectual accomplishments and more than 25 years in practice have all grown together to serve him well in navigating the intricacies of the law and servicing his clients’ legal needs.

Ted is active in the Illinois State Bar Association.  He can be seen almost daily tooling around the city enjoying one of his favorite stress relievers, bicycling.  As all fathers do he enjoys hanging out with his son, Alex, and they both share a love for fine cars, old and new.
